adidas Athletes Are Stronger Than the Elements in New Spot from Miniac Films

Los Angeles-based Miniac Films director John Christopher Pina teams up with adidas Global Brand Design to create the “NOT MADE FOR NORMAL” campaign for the launch of the new adidas SS16 CLIMACHILL collection. The spot, shot in Arizona, celebrates the dedication of athletes who persevere amidst severe climate conditions thanks to their adidas CLIMACHILL sports apparel. The work is the third campaign Miniac Films has produced for adidas, including two “Uncontrol Yourself” spots for adidas CLIMACHILL in SS15.

“Miniac Films has built a close relationship with adidas which allowed for a mutual trust and respect in the development of this film,” notes Miniac Films Executive Producer Stephen Roesler. “Director John Christopher Pina and Creative Director Nick Cline collaborated closely in their selection of locations, sound, music and the use of black and white footage contrasted with color to accentuate the CLIMACHILL product story.

In the cinematic spot, heat causes an ice cream cone to melt on the sidewalk and the sun glares through the fronds of a palm tree as a runner makes her way through a barren desert landscape. Another dedicated runner sprints through a deserted city, all as the hot sun beats down. Our heroines push through extreme temperatures with the help of the industry leading CLIMACHILL apparel that allows them to keep up their training and performance, regardless of the heat.
