The 7th performance of the Festival of Living History of Marle will take place, as in previous years, on the last weekend of June 2013, on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th, 2013.
As before, the Festival will take place at the unique site of the archaeological park of the Dark Ages (www.museedestempsbarbares.fr), in a 4,5 ha field, in the heart of a life-size reconstructed Frankish village.
This Festival will allow many French and foreign companies of re-enactors, among the best in Europe, to meet.
The intention of the organisers of the Festival is, following the example of the festival in England, to gather the best re-enactors, among others, who work closely with archaeologists and the scientists in Marle..
For the 7th performance the organizers have choose the Late Antiquity and the early Middle Ages as their theme.
As well as the classic activities surrounding everyday life, like crafts and cooking, the manager of the site, Mr. A. Nice. wants to offer the audience an evocation of the fights in the north of Gaul, between the barbarians who came from the east and the Roman army.
A reconstructed small fort will be used as the scenery.
