The Prometheia festival honours the god Prometheus, who is credited with the creation of man from clay and the theft of fire for human use, an act that enabled progress and civilization.
Inspired and realised by the Stockholm University Professor of Philosophy, Dr. Tryphon Olympios, it has now gained the status of a pan-Hellenic institution, as it now enters its 18th year of continuous presence.
A multitude of visitors from Greece and abroad gather every year at the natural surroundings of the small pine grove dedicated to Prometheus at the foot of Mount Olympus to exchange opinions, honour the ancient philosophers, to breathe the refreshing air of the countryside, to set up camp and to spend the night talking and stargazing on the Mountain of the Gods. And of course, to watch the events of the Promethean drama and the Promethean fire that are the cornerstone of festival.
This year’s Prometheia festival will take place between the 4th and 7th of July, 2013. For more information follow on the link below.
