“Hostels vs. Hotels” - new campaign to celebrate a level of spontaneity that would never happen in a hotel environment, but happens all the time for young, outgoing millennial travelers who stay in hostels as their gateways to the world. Here's their latest installment, which released this morning.
The advertisement runs through a one man mission to bring the skinny dip to fruition in a hotel, as you see guests being approached in the hotel lobby, in the bar and even in the elevator. The guy even starts to strip...ready for the beach or a body of water with a good time. Really funny video...especially the elderly women freaking out when asked if she’d like to go. “Erm, excuse me?”
There are tons of stats out there about how tough the millennial generation is to market and advertise to. Hostelworld is cracking the code to this demographic with edgy, funny videos that push boundaries and don't feel like traditional ads. Millennials like risque...and boy does this ride that line — the first UK installment of the campaign was actually banned.
