Design by Jon Burgerman
Maek it original. I was thrilled to learn about this new sunglasses line by Maek, which focuses on collaboration with talented members in the art industry to create "unique and high quality accessories that stand out from a crowd." Since I go to a school with a strong focus on the arts, I've really come to appreciate the interesting, outstanding work that comes when two creative powerhouses work together with a common goal.
Maek has currently teamed up with four creative forces from Nottingham to offer the sunglasses-enthusiast in all of us some really beautiful frames. Pictured above are one of the designs by Jon Burgerman, a notorious "doodler" whose images can be found on all manner of products. These colorful frames are sure to catch anyone's eye!
Maek has also collaborated with Bantum, the street-wear apparel designer, the ethical urban fashion brand Regenerate, and the graffiti artist, Dilk. Each of these artists has brought something refreshing to the sun-protection game. On their website, Maek stresses their belief in originality and self-expression. These sunglasses, in their bright colors and bold patterns, are certainly for the art-loving individual who wants to make a statement!
Pictured above are the glasses designed by Bantum and Regenerate. The Bantum sunglasses are such a perfect, summery color. They really remind me of taking a road trip to the beach. The Regenerate sunglasses are so sleek and really cool looking; I'd love to pair them with a leather jacket and some colorful scarves for a great autumn look. As someone who has worn glasses since the age of four, I'm always intrigued by new frames. The Maek line is something to keep an eye on!
